We opened Phase 3 with a site located in Carryduff (Northern Ireland). Planning permission has been granted (Planning Reference S/2014/0533/F) for a wind turbine with a maximum height of 66m (to blade tip) for a period of 25 years for the operation of the turbine. The installed turbine will be a Vestas V39 (De-Rated to 250 kW). The wind turbine site is in single land ownership and subject to a 25-year lease agreement. A grid connection offer has been made and accepted by the Northern Ireland Electricity Network (NIE).
The Carryduff Project qualifies for the NIRO (Northern Ireland Renewables Obligation) under the “approved development” criteria. The project is planned to be constructed and commissioned by Q4 2017. Upon completion and commissioning, the project will be eligible to receive 2016/2017 ROC’s (Renewable Obligations Certificates) and current market value export payments via a negotiated PPA (Power Purchase Agreement).
A wind resource assessment has been carried out by Green Cat Renewables Ltd. The report provides an estimate of wind yield for the proposed turbine at 7.83 m/s and annual prediction yield figures for a Vestas V39 turbine (De-Rated to 250 kW) of 919,000 kWh.
