Newry
PROJECT FUNDED
The third site is located 4km west of Newry (Northern Ireland). Planning permissions have been granted (Reference P/2012/0284/F). The Newry Project qualifies for the NIRO (Northern Ireland Renewables Obligation) under the “approved development” criteria. The installed turbine will be a Pioneer 29 (De-Rated to 250 kW).
The turbine is to be operated at a power level of 225kW. The site is estimated to produce an annual average wind speed of circa 6.48 m/s. This in theory will produce an annual yield of circa 514,000 kWh.
The wind turbine site is in single land ownership, and is subject to a 25-year lease agreement. A grid connection offer has been made and accepted to NIE’s (Northern Ireland Electricity) 11kV network. The project is planned to be constructed and commissioned by Q1 2018.
