Over the course of our first two Phases, FRE plc has successfully funded projects in Aberdeenshire and East Ayrshire in Scotland, as well as East Cumbria in England.
During Phase 3, locations in Northern Ireland (Carryduff, Pomeroy, and Newry), as well as in the Pennygillam Industrial Estate near Cornwall have also been funded with success.
The three new sites in Northern Ireland will provide an estimated combined 2,150,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually, and these installations all qualify for the Northern Irish Renewable Obligation Certificate under the ‘approved development’ criteria.

In total, FRE plc has completed nine fully operational wind turbines across eight sites in the UK, which have seen 5,792,853 kWh* produced overall – with the ability to power more than 1,400 houses and light 96,547.550 60-Watt light bulbs for 1 hour.
The average house takes up 3,900 kWh per year, and the average lightbulb uses 525.6 kWh per year. Check out our handy infographic here to see what this all looks like.
Following the success of the initial three Phases, Phase 4 is also nearing its funding target before we launch Phase 5, which is expected towards the end of 2018.
